It’s time once again for another edition of our long-running Faceoff Series, wherein we pit two similar or competing web services, gadgets, apps and more against each other in a head-to-head battle for supremacy amongst Mashable readers. This week it’s a war for best electronic book reading experience between two of the heaviest heavyweights: Amazon and Apple.

Last week we saw the iPad solidly trounce the netbook, and now with the forthcoming addition of iBooks support in iPhone OS 4.0 Apple takes a solid swing at Amazon’s Kindle eReader as well.

For now the Kindle retains arguably the greater reach, with the physical device as well as a seamless reading experience across PC, Mac, iPhone and BlackBerry. When iPhone OS 4.0 hits this summer with iBooks support, however, Apple’s eReader platform will see an effective extension by about 85 million units across iPhone and iPod touch owners.

But how does the actual iBooks experience stack up against the Kindle? That’s exactly what we want to find out from you, dear readers. Let us know in the poll below before Friday afternoon (2:30 PST to be exact) which eReader platform you think would win in a bar room brawl: Amazon’s, or Apple’s?

Who would win in a fight: Amazon Kindle or Apple iBooks?survey software
