A magnitude-7.2 earthquake shook Baja California today, with the quake being felt from San Diego to Mexicali and even Phoenix.

Images immediately appeared on Twitter (see Mexicali earthquake photos), but we’re now seeing home videos being uploaded to YouTube, giving a more complete picture of the quake. Yet again, it seems social media has a role to play in our understanding of significant news events.

In California, where most of these videos were shot, early reports suggested a long, rolling quake which sent chandeliers swinging and pools overflowing, but causing little damage.

HuffPo also has a roundup of videos from the quake.
