Several Swedish retailers are currently listing a price for Microsoft’s full-body motion controller Project Natal, and if the price is real, it’s much higher than expected.

The price listed on all these websites is 1,499 SEK or approximately 197 U.S. dollars. Even if we consider the fact that prices for games and gaming equipment in Sweden are a bit higher than in the U.S., this is still quite expensive for a gadget that’s essentially a peripheral for the Xbox 360.

A couple of months ago we saw predictions that Project Natal might cost around $50; we can only hope that this “leaked” price is merely an error or a placeholder price for this highly anticipated gadget.
