What is the best email s/ware to send newsletters to a group without selecting each recipient independently?

I also want to send notifications of events to club members 3 times per week to about 50 to 100 members. It would be great if there was a way to confirm that the email was opened / read. Thanks in advance

Use a free/cheap newsletter service. Some run as cheap as $5/mo for up to 1,000 email addresses. We use www.newslettermagic.com to send ours.
